We hear about hormones and antibiotics in industrially raised beef, but who knew about ractopamine hydrochloride? Turns out it is banned by 120 countries, including the European Union and China. It has been widely used in pork production as well. All the more reason to seek out meat from pasture-raised animals who have not been fed a chemical stew.
