What information should I include in the description fields?
Your Summary Description should answer the question “what do you do?” If you can say that in less than 250 characters, then use the remainder to tell how you are different.
The Description appears on the Detail page of your Showcase Listing. There are no limits on length here, so take as much space as you need to convince customers to do business with you. You’ll get the best results if you are very specific about your offerings. For security reasons, html code (such as for live web links) is not allowed in this field.
Here are some suggestions for various categories:
Butchers: list all the types of meat you sell and the cuts, along with any other pertinent information (availability, pricing, bulk orders, etc.)
Independent Pet Retailers: list the products you sell that will be most relevant to real food feeders. In particular, list any brands that are included in the Manufacturers and Supplements sections of the Raw Food Sources Directory.
Meat Farmers: list the type of animals you raise, how you raise them, method of processing, and the availability of meat products (on farm pick-up, shipping, etc)
Nutrition Consultants: describe your services and credentials, along with any relevant specialties (canine cancer, breeder consultations, feline diets, etc.)
Pet Food Manufacturers: list fresh, frozen, dehydrated or freeze-dried products. If your company also manufactures kibble, we appreciate your promoting those products elsewhere.
Pet Treat Manufacturers: list products and why they would appeal to real food feeders
Supplement Manufacturers: list products and why they would appeal to real food feeders
Training / Boarding Facilities: list the food and treats you sell at your facility
